Starting next Wednesday the final step in completing my AA degree in Applied Digital Media and Printing will begin. I will be on the campus for two days a week for over 13 hours. This is going to be a big testament to my willingness to succeed and really applying self discipline with a focus on time management. While doing all of this school work I will be continuing my support for 360Junkies.com and pressing forward into a career in the games industry. The best thing about school being done with I won’t have to wait long to celebrate as E3 2010 will be a few days after my finals. Everyone wish me luck and please excuse the lack of updates to my personal site.
Guest on Post Game Report Podcast
Last week I had the great pleasure of being a guest on the Post Game Report podcast with some of the folks I had recently meet at the great community meetup at dave and busters. There was tons of talk about Halo, 343 Industries, Community, Dark Void, Project Natal, and gaming in general. With many laughs as we recorded the show listening to it again made me laugh as well. The show is a hefty 2.5 hours of entertainment and discussion. If you are very interested in what I had to say about Halo/343 Industries and the community aspect of what is going on the start time for that was about 25 minutes in and lasting till about 1 hour into the show, I can talk Halo for a long time, but other things needed to be talked about also.
You can check out the episode on Itunes do a search for Post Game Report and it will be episode 85. You can also listen to the podcast directly here
Thank you goes out to Soldier, JVB, Superman, and Sugarfree. I hope to do it again soon.
Critical Thinking
Right now I am taking a Philosophy/Critical thinking class that is keeping be busy as of late. As I am reading through the text I am finding myself opening my eyes on what it means to be a critical thinker. There is some great topics in the class like learning about myself, perception of events, what it means to be a critical thinker and conformity. I have been using what I am learning in the class to apply in my everyday life and to further my goals as I work towards the many projects I want to accomplish this year. I have found my discussions with the class to be more in depth and precise and being able to providing evidence and facts. I believe this class will be beneficial to helping me organize my thoughts and clearly present my ideas in the future for public consumption. I have already started strong with the homework by getting full credit and continue to hit the books so I can get a good grade and graduate this summer. Looking forward to see what the future holds for me.
Slipknot “Snuff” Music Video
Grammy-award winning hard rock iconoclasts SLIPKNOT have once again defied expectation. While no strangers to radio success, SLIPKNOT are climbing the charts again, but this time with an introspective track that challenges what some would expect from a hard rock radio song. This genre-bending new single, “Snuff”, is currently Top 5 at Active Rock and Top 20 at Modern Rock and is climbing steadily. Continue reading ‘Slipknot “Snuff” Music Video’
Voice Options
The wonders of online gaming are great. We can communicate with players from around the world, make new friends and easily make new enemies. Just because we as gamers have the freedom of speech in the gaming sphere doesn’t mean you should use it all the time. I have a few ideas on the subject after the jump….
Slipknot 10 years already?
Today I would like to talk about something that has influenced my life personally on many levels and has shown me the strength to follow my dreams. Music for me has always been close to different states of mind either the good or the bad. As I write this article I am listening to Slipknot to give me the inspiration to get the words out that I would like to express. Continue reading ‘Slipknot 10 years already?’
Changing the core and going after the casual
Recently I have been thinking about the future of the games market and where the industry will be going over the next year or so. Will companies ever understand that you can’t control each and every aspect of the market to be a success? It is unclear to me why major companies will go out of their way to capture a market that they initially didn’t set out to get approval from. The changes have been slow, but are now rising to the surface and being very noticeable. As most people are aware by now the Nintendo Wii has the casual market under its thumb with full control. To appease some of the casual crowds both Sony and Microsoft are developing motion controllers or camera based player controls to broaden the audience.
